Full Frame Initiative (FFI) is a social change nonprofit working toward a country where everyone has a fair shot at well-being. It partners with a growing cohort of pioneering public systems, communities, and nonprofits across the United States to fundamentally transform the structures and beliefs that perpetuate poverty, violence, and oppression.
The Challenge
FFI’s resources covered a multitude of topics and formats, but information was scattered across the site without a central, interactive hub. This disorganization made it challenging for their audiences to discover and understand FFI’s purpose and services. If they did stumble upon the website, navigation and paths to resources weren’t intuitive. The existing website didn’t reflect its impact and progress, holding it back from their bold vision.
The Approach
To better support FFI’s educational mission, the site was restructured to present tools and resources in a clear, accessible way, enabling quicker, more effective action. A comprehensive “Learn” menu offers multiple pathways in a single, intuitive hub, allowing users to explore FFI core concepts, navigate by topic, or search the resource library. Topic pages provide a guided user experience by pulling relevant resources through tagging while sorting and filtering features enable users to customize their view based on specific needs.
The design of the FFI website needed to be a sophisticated version of their existing brand while incorporating new photography and iconography. The name of the organization is based on the idea of stepping back and looking outside of your frame of view. A subtle frame element borders the website, allowing content to float within but also on top of it bringing this idea to life.
The Results
To create durable change, FFI reframes how organizations think about issues and redesigns systems to support the human right to well-being. Now, the FFI website provides a straightforward path for engaging with resources for well-being. The streamlined structure empowers the organization to activate its resources, driving quicker, mission-aligned actions across its audience.
