In 2014, Alex Kimura approached us with a dream, finding a bone marrow donor to save her sister’s life. Sam had been diagnosed with acute aplastic anemia, a blood cancer requiring a bone marrow transplant for treatment. After finding out she was not a match to donate, Alex established Sharing America’s Marrow (SAM), a nonprofit organization recruiting donors across the country to help her sister and others like her.
Fieldtrip rallied behind their cause and adopted it as our own. We poured ourselves into branding, messaging, a website, and more to set the Kimura sisters up for success. In their 12-month cross-country trek to all 50 states, Sharing America’s Marrow found bone marrow matches at colleges and universities. Twenty-four thousand people signed up to donate and 415 people got to be someone’s hero. Strangers changed 415 lives.
This project ignited a passion from the Fieldtrip team yet we had no idea of the long-term impact it would make. When partnering with nonprofits and causes that make the world a better place, our work increased their impact. Our jobs and talents feed not only our creativity but improve the lives of others.
Over the years, we’ve had the privilege to work with a number of organizations dedicated to helping others including a website to eliminate homelessness, a brand to overcome stigmas around child abuse, campaigns to support our city in combatting COVID-19, and so much more. In each of these projects we amplified the inspiring work of our client partners all while fueling our passion for the work we do.
As we looked to our future, we realized that creating a positive impact through great work will always be our rubric, but the greatest reward comes from working with client partners who have bold and brave visions of improving the world. Together we make a difference in the world and every day we engage our minds, hearts, and spirit, lifting up the organizations and the lives of those they serve.
